The site was a prominent corner block in Cremorne adjacent the redevelopment of the SCEGGS redlands school. The property is in a prime residential area with the brief to maximise the site potential and the northerly aspect. The building contains 15 units in total with a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Given the location was also on a busy road the units achieve a high level of visual and acoustic privacy. The living areas are set back from the street and deep balconies allow for external entertaining spaces to act as a buffer to the internal rooms. The architectre is simple and robust with bagged brickwork providing a rich and textured finish to the facade, offset with the use of off form concrete and timber cladding the brick base speaks to the heritage church across the road and contextualises the building into the neighbourhood. All apartments more than meet the criteria of achieving the requisite amount of sun access and cross ventilation. The interiors are elegant and refined with planning devised to separate the public and private spaces of the units.
